Senior Manager, Communications

 

Covenant Foundation is seeking an experienced communications professional to join its dynamic team in the full-time, permanent position of Senior Manager, Communications.

 

The Senior Manager, Communications is responsible for leading the development and execution of Covenant Foundation's integrated, strategic Communications Plan to support the fundraising and cause-related initiatives of the Foundation by building awareness and promoting a positive public image of the Foundation and the causes it supports.

 

The Senior Manager, Communications works collaboratively with the Foundation senior leadership team and Covenant Health/Care/Living, including Covenant Health Communications, to ensure the integrity of the brand, issues management and synergistic opportunities to advance the mission and vision of both organizations.

 

The Senior Manager, Communications is responsible for the day-to-day brand management, media relations, public relations and communications functions of the Covenant Foundation, including the Foundation's corporate communications, social media and website content. In addition, the Senior Manager, Communications supports activities associated with the Foundation's fundraising and cause-related activities, including special events and projects. 

 

In collaboration with the CEO and Director of Philanthropy, the Senior Manager, Communications provides strategic leadership and operational expertise in the development, planning, execution and evaluation of communications and public relations plans for the Foundation. This requires strategically assessing the needs of all stakeholders determining priorities and opportunities and translating them into measurable goals and objectives.  

 

The successful candidate has a University Degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, marketing communications or a related discipline, and a minimum 7 years' experience in leading the development of strategic communications initiatives for an organization, preferably in the not-for-profit environment. A minimum of three years' experience managing and supervising staff is preferred. Involvement in a professional association is an asset. High emotional intelligence, with the ability to influence others and to rally them to the Foundation's purpose and leverage constructive and effective relationships is a key competency. Travel is a requirement of the position, as is the ability to work flexible hours, such as evenings and weekends, as required.
