A message from Lisa Munro, our President & CEO
As the new President & CEO of Covenant Foundation, I am proud and humbled to lead a team who is as passionate about philanthropy as I am, and we feel privileged to partner with generous donors like you. We know you have choices about where to give, and we are tremendously grateful for your support.
You are the reason we were able to invest more than $2.5 million at 21 Covenant hospitals and continuing care sites across Alberta in 2022-23. Your generosity enabled us to help Covenant healthcare teams pioneer new approaches to care, innovate solutions to system pressures and gaps in service, and better address the changing health needs of Albertans now and into the future.
Below you will find our 2022-23 digital annual report, including a one-minute video from my team. I also invite you to click on the links below the video to read about the important health needs we funded with your support. We hope you will feel inspired by our stories about the impact we made together and are excited to learn about our new focus on six crucial health priorities.
On behalf of our board and the entire team, thank you for continuing to help us create vibrant communities of health and healing for Albertans through every stage of life.
With gratitude,
Lisa Munro, President & CEO
With more than 170,000 charities and non-profits in Canada, we're proud to be part of an elite group of approximately 200 in the country – and just 35 in Alberta – accredited by the Imagine Canada Standards Program. Accreditation is awarded to charities and non-profits like ours that excel in five areas including board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management and volunteer involvement. Our accreditation confirms our commitment to the highest standards of accountability, transparency and governance.
Covenant Foundation respectfully acknowledges that our central office and several foundation-supported Covenant sites are located on Treaty 6 territory and Region 4 of the Métis Nation of Alberta, a traditional land and gathering place of diverse Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/Anishinaabe, Inuit, and many others. We also support Covenant sites all across Alberta on Treaty 4, 6 and 7 territory, as well as the Regions 2, 3 and 4 of the Métis Nation of Alberta. We honour and respect the people whose histories, languages and cultures have been here for thousands of years and continue to influence our vibrant community. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
