What We Do

Covenant Foundation's purpose is to support Covenant Health's 155-year legacy of providing quality compassionate care – healing the body, enriching the mind and nurturing the soul. Our foundation raises funds to help support specialized programs and services, state-of-the-art equipment, and leading-edge research and education for 22 Covenant sites in ten communities across Alberta.

With the generous support of our donors, we're transforming health care for hospital patients and long-term care residents, their families and healthcare teams. Through an annual grant application process, we're proud to work with our partners at Covenant facilities to deliver the funding they need to support the patients, residents and families they serve.

Our Accomplishments, Together!

We're proud of our accomplishments over the years, including these milestones:

• Investing more than $10.2 million since 2016 to help advance care and drive innovation in seniors' health and well-being at Covenant hospitals and continuing care sites across Alberta — from Edmonton to Lethbridge.
• Providing more than $2.3 million for specialized equipment and training, enhanced care spaces, and family centred care at the new, state-of-the-art Misericordia Community Hospital Emergency Department.
• Funding more than $800,000 to renovate the Mel Miller Hospice at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre to create spaces of warmth and comfort for residents and their families, including upgrades to all resident rooms and family spaces.
• Investing over $4 million to enhance the neonatal intensive care units at the Grey Nuns and Misericordia Community Hospitals to ensure moms, babies and families have the best care and support possible.
  
• Granting $100,000 towards enhancing the Misericordia Community Hospital’s mental health program to create a more home-like atmosphere for patients.
