Since 1993, the Everyone's a Winner Golf Tournament has raised well over a million dollars for our causes.Launched in 1993 and blossoming into an annual event, the Caritas Hospitals Foundation is proud to host one of the most well-known charity golf tournaments in Edmonton. Over the years the logo has changed but the spirit of the event never waivers, focusing on priorities including patient care, and research. The Edmonton Country Club, the oldest golf club in Edmonton, has hosted this event for over 15 years and offers a gorgeous surrounding in the heart of the city for golfers to showcase their talents. LegacyStuart Ross, a senior account manager with RBC, has been involved with the tournament since he joined the company six years ago. But the bank's involvement has an even longer history. RBC has been a strong supporter of Everyone's A Winner since the tournament's inception, and it's a legacy that Stuart is proud to continue. "Covenant Health, and the Caritas Foundation that supports it, is such a positive force in our community," he says. "They care for all ages: the young, the elderly, those who need palliative end-of-life, or mental health care. It's an organization that I myself, and RBC, couldn't be happier to be supporting." Stuart isn't just an outsider looking in. He's been in Caritas-supported facilities as a patient, and has had family members experience the Covenant Hospitals as patients as well. One of the qualities he appreciates most is the organization's commitment to hands-on, high-quality care. "When you're in the hospital," he says, "you get to see how everything goes back to that holistic approach of complete care." Stuart's trust in the guiding principles of both Caritas and Covenant make him an ideal supporter of the Everyone's A Winner golf tournament. But that trust hasn't come from thin air. "What I've always appreciated is how upfront Caritas has been about where the funds they raise will go," Stuart says. "They always explain what program or equipment is going to be purchased, and do a good job of showing exactly how that's going to affect their patients. It makes it easy for me to trust that the support RBC, and all the volunteers, are offering is going to a worthwhile cause." At the Caritas Foundation, we deeply appreciate and look forward to the continued support of champions like Stuart and RBC. As we grow our facilities through programming, equipment, and training, we promise to work just as hard to keep our valued supporters educated on the lifesaving effects their assistant provides. |
