Margaret A. Banks Helping Hand Benefaction
Oct 3rd & 4th; Oct 10th and 11th
During the first two weekends of October, the Margaret A. Banks Helping Hand Benefaction was held to fundraise for the Caritas Foundation. The event was a wonderful way to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret A. Banks. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Margaret's friends and family, nearly $800 was raised towards the Misericordia Intensive Care Unit.
Margaret was diagnosed with naso-pharyngeal cancer at the age of 32. She put up an arduous and heroic battle over the next fifteen years as her health continued to decline, but sadly succumbed to her illness in 2014. Margaret remained to the very end one of the most thoughtful, polite, gracious, kind, and loving ladies you could ever hope to meet, her inner beauty shining like a beacon of light for her husband, family, and friends.
As well as being a brilliant image/beauty consultant, she was a very gifted artisan and spent years perfecting her crafts. Delicate pieces of embroidery can be seen hanging throughout her home and the homes of her family and friends. Her beautiful handmade gift cards were treasured by all who received them. By Margaret's wish, her completed work was sold at the Benefaction.
The Caritas Foundation expresses the utmost gratitude to Margaret's husband, Dr. Brian K. Banks, and the event's organizers. The money will make a difference.
If this story inspires you, consider hosting your own event to celebrate a loved one.
